What is World Flight?
The WORLD FLIGHT 2007(Charityflight) is a “virtual” round the world flight to raise money for the Toronto Hospital For Sick Children Foundation's, "HERBIE FUND".

The concept of a virtual round the world flight to raise money for a selected charity was started in 1998 by a team in the UK www.world-flight.org. There is a group in Australia www.worldflight.com.au who joined in 2001. Our very own WORLD FLIGHT was started with WF2002-2003 teams raised substantial amounts for the "HERBIE FUND". Each WORLD FLIGHT Team select their own needy charity and conduct their flight on behalf of their selected charity. Local pilots from the FANCON convention in Seattle will fly the Boeing Level-D 767-300 simulator. Donation are encouraged.

The flights will be conducted online on the VATSIM network www.vatsim.net and live Air Traffic Control will be provided through most of the countries that we visit. A 45-30 minute turn around will be allowed at each stop and during that time the incoming crew will be fully briefed as to weather conditions along their route and other operational requirements. Full enroute flight plans will be issued by a full-time Flight Dispatch Team, (FDT) consisting of four members. The FDT will be non-flying members of World-Flight 2003 and have the responsibility of all routes, weather reports and ATC co-ordination. FDT do not have to be at the convention.
